Every note is encrypted in your browser using the title as the key (AES-256). Only the encrypted blob and a one-way SHA-256 hash of the title are stored on our servers. Because the title is the secret, we cannot read the contents of any note. The one exception: if a title is short or easily guessed, the note is effectively public, and anyone who guesses the title (including us) can read it. Choose a long, complex title for notes you want to keep private.
